Our first assignment is a getting-to-know-each-other activity.
Discussion 1: Introduction
Under the Discussion tab at the top of this page, create a new post with the title "Introduction".
In the post, give a brief biography of yourself that includes the following:
1. Your name
2. The grade level and building where you teach
3. Any other information you would like to share with us.
4. A "Treasure" - a positive reading experience you had as a student.
5. Some "Recycling" - a reading experience you had as a student that you wish could have been done over as something new or better.
Be sure to read the posts from other participants and respond to at least 2 people over the next two weeks. All posts are due by October 15th.
AND don't forget to look for a coming attraction...
Discussion 2: Trends
Under the Discussions tab at the top of this page, create a new post with the title "Trends".
After reading everyone's introduction, tell us what you noticed about the positive and negative experiences with reading.
What impact have these experiences had on us as readers?
What can this mean for our students today?
